Introduction

Everything you ever needed to know about scholarships can be found at these sites.  There are stories of students piecing together enough money to pay for college by filling out hundreds of applications.  


However, please be aware that some of the database sites will sell the information you enter to colleges for recruiting purposes.  

Scholarship Search Access for Watson College Counseling Students

National Scholarships (a sampling)

Cameron Impact Scholarship:  investing in exceptional individuals who will make a notable impact in their varied professional and personal relationships throughout their entire lives

Mensa Foundation:  scholarships for students in U.S.; award based on essay not membership 

Horatio Alger Association: scholarship based on financial need

Society for Women Engineers:  supporting women pursing degrees at accredited engineering programs 

GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship: rewards college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with financial assistance to pursue higher education 

Davidson Fellows Scholarship: Awards scholarships to extraordinary young people, under age 18, who have completed a significant piece of work

Zonta:  scholarships empowering women 

Questbridge:  more than just a scholarship program, targeted at low income students 

Coolidge Scholarship:  for high achieving students
Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation Scholarships: scholarships for graphic communication majors
ENTELEC’s Wayne V. Black Scholarship: scholarship for students studying in an energy related field
VFW Auxilliary's Young American Patriotic Art Contest: for artists who produce a patriotic work of art

Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation: Cultivating a network of leaders who inspire positive change in their communities and beyond

Jeannette Rankin Women's Scholarship Fund: scholarship for women aged 35+ pursuing first degree
Diabetes Scholars Foundation: for strong academic students with Type 1 diabetes active in diabetes community

Wells Fargo Leaders Program: full scholarship for low income students

Taco Bell Live Más Scholarship: Student must submit a 2-minute video answering three questions about their passions

JFK Courage Essay Contest: An essay application that describes and analyzes an act of political courage by a U.S. elected official who served during or after 1917, the year John F. Kennedy was born.

Bold.org “Be Bold” No-Essay Scholarship: A no-essay scholarship that will be awarded to the boldest profile. Judged based on bold meaning earnest, determined, and moving.

ELK’S Most Valuable Student Scholarship: Awarded to students based on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.

Niche No Essay Scholarship: No essay needed! $15,000 scholarship will be determined by random drawing.

CollegeBoard Big Futures Scholarship: No essay, no minimum GPA or test score, or citizenship requirements.

StudentScholarships 10 Words or Less Scholarship: Open to students 14-25 that will be attending school in the Fall of 2024.

$2,000 Sallie Mae Scholarship: No essay required.

CareerOneStop: Search more than 5,000 scholarships, fellowships, loans, and other financial aid opportunities, sponsored by the US government.


FastWeb.com: A searchable database of millions of scholarships worth billions of dollars.


Raise Me: Partners with universities to offer students micro-scholarships for achievements from as early as 9th grade.


FinAid.org: This award-winning site includes a comprehensive database of scholarships, student financial aid information, advice and tools.


Going Merry: One application required in order to apply to national, local, and school-specific scholarships so you don't need to spend time browsing dozens of random sites.


Scholarships.com: Browse through 3.7 million free scholarships and grants worth more than $19 billion.


Scholarship America: A highly rated charity which distributes its funds to college students locally and nationally.

CareersandColleges: Search more than 1.8 million scholarships worth $7 billion.


College Answer: An award database that contains more than 2.9 million scholarships worth more than $16 billion, and is expanded and updated daily.


College Connection Scholarships: A monthly listing of free scholarship information.


CollegeBoard Scholarship Search: A database of more than 2,300 sources of college funding, totaling nearly $3 billion in available aid.


CollegeData: Use the Scholarship Finder search engine to search 500,000 awards worth more than $2.3 billion.


Edvisors: A scholarship database and advising website.


FindTuition: A listing of more than $7 billion in scholarships and grants.


Scholarship Experts/Unigo: Search 2.4 million scholarships worth more than $14 billion.
